I call PEMF therapy ‘Magnawaving’. PEMF has beneficial clinical evidence for:
healing of non-union bone fractures (bone growth) (1, 2, 3, 4, 5)
fusion patients that are high risk of non-fusion (1,5)
treatment of depression and anxiety (transcranial magnetic therapy) (10)
incontinence and muscle stimulation. In one study, results were evaluated
after 3 months. In 10 patients (7 post prostatectomy, 3 cystourethrocele) which
were submitted to 18 sessions, twice a week, an improvement of incontinence in 75% of cases with patient
compliance and the quality of life up to 100% also improved (11)
gaining significant clinical importance and potential especially to someone
like myself who is an ‘off label’ practitioner and ‘biohacker’. I’m able to demonstrate
improvements (using a four lead body composition device) to my patient’s for hydration (intracellular and
extracellular fluids) and the phase angle,
which is a measurement of the body’s overall cell membrane health. Achieving
proper hydration especially at the intracellular level is vital to good health
especially if you are someone making slow progress.
provide enhanced musculoskeletal healing and overall health (biohacking)? In my
experience the answer is yes. Using high intensity pulsing electromagnetic
fields safely passes through a cell membrane and ‘shock’ the structures within.
PEMF could accelerate all phases of tissue repair, from initial pain and
swelling to blood vessel growth, tissue regeneration, and remodeling. (6) The
current thinking is that the primary effect of clinically relevant PEMF signals
is to increase the rate of production of Nitric Oxide, which can orchestrate an
anti-inflammatory response via increased blood and lymph flow (6, 8).
I can direct
the PEMF towards ‘spot’ areas of your body to help resolve injuries or other
damage, or I can provide ‘broad’ area treatment to improve self-reported
psychometric measures of sleep, mood, and quality of life (life satisfaction)
without adverse effects. That’s why PEMF sessions are often called “cellular
exercise” and is popular among biohackers.
translates to speeding up of the healing process. For chronic pain patients such
as osteoarthritis PEMF stimulates the microenvironment and the after effects of
treatment sessions are increased range of motion and decreased pain. PEMF may help alleviate the pain of arthritis, exert
anti-inflammatory action and helps in bone remodeling.
I use PEMF to
improve tendon to bone healing in rotator cuff repair, Achilles tendon injuries
and gluteal tendon tears because it improves microcirculation. After 8 minutes
of low intensity PEMF it improves microcirculation – meaning the RBC’s stop
sticking together (3,4). PEMF has been used to effect osteoblast proliferation and
is used for fractures. For all the above conditions I can blend PEMF,
chiropractic care, nutrition, and topical hemp or BioFreeze. (3,4,7)
forward to helping you PEMF for urinary incontinence, brain support, insomnia, and
even depressive disorders as well as all of the above.

Techniques to relax the suboccipital muscles can be beneficial in treating headaches and tension headaches and in improving mobility of the cervical vertebrae. The benefit can be increased by using the following treatments and modalities that I offer:
Hands on therapy to stretch and deeply massage the muscles
Laser therapy to increase blood flow to the base of the skull
Pulse wave therapy to promote blood flow and break up scar tissue in the lower neck and upper back that can contribute to headaches
Deep Muscle Stimulation to increase blood flow and oxygen along the muscles of the spine
These methods are safe and easy to apply in the office. It’s also important to discuss proper nutrition and help patients figure some gentle exercise routines to perform to release tension in the body.
Feel free to call me at 310-444-9393 if you have questions or would like an appointment.
Aging is not optional. Most of my practice is dealing with musculoskeletal pain, some patients need and want the rehab to performance model, but the majority want the rehab to stay healthy concept.
Personal wellbeing and maintaining it as you age is one of the top issues of the day. A new phase for this is biohacking. As my patients have aged with me, they have learned what I learn and we want to stay ahead of health issues and prepare ahead for the next health chapters of life. We have all seen that nothing stops good intentions, a positive mindset, and a healthy training program like an injury or illness. If you can’t even get started working out, or continue working out/training with pain, how can you fully stay healthy. The 65-and-older set will soon outnumber children younger than 5.
I talk to patients about the concept of the Wellness Wheel, concepts put together from multiple sources like Ben Greenfield, Dave Asprey, Dr. David Perlmutter, and others. The conversation is about diet, exercise, sleep, cardiovascular health, digestion, hormones, brain health, stress and inflammation, detoxification (lymphatics), esthetics, and longevity. A patient gets a check mark ? if they are doing something to provide this whole-health approach to prevent disease and injury.
Call 310-444-9393 if you like this model of care
Biohacks are things we can do that supports optimal inflammatory response, enhanced relaxation, improved sleep quality, improved brain function and improved body structure (fat to lean muscle mass ratios, strength, etc).
Tumeric Forte is a curcumin-rich product where the curcumin is absorbed and utilized up to 45 times greater by your body than standard curcumin products. This is my premier herbal anti-inflammatory, and it helps improve memory, helps regulate glucose metabolism. I think every adult should be using Tumeric Forte. Call the office to have it shipped directly to you.
Laser Therapy. Stem cells are becoming a mainstay treatment for chronic pain and athletic injuries. Laser therapy can be used as a biologic agent to increase stem cells and blood platelets to help manage bony and soft tissue conditions. I especially like laser therapy for those who already have osteoarthritis especially of the knee.
PEMF (Magnet therapy). Clinical evidence lends support for PEMF. The benefits of ‘Magawaving’ include: it stimulates electrical changes — around and within the cell; Activates and promotes cell regeneration; can alleviate the symptoms of arthritis; improves circulation; can help relieve the symptoms of depression and it promotes bone healing.
Shockwave Therapy. Research investigating the role of shockwave therapy for chronic tendon injuries such as Achilles tendon and plantar fasciitis is ongoing and positive. I like seeing the results I get helping break up scar tissue and improve range of motion with my 3 different types of shockwave machines.
SP Detox Balance. This powder makes a delicious shake that helps the organ system detox nice and slow on a daily basis. SP Detox Balance will support and nourish your body so that it does its job properly – helping you increase energy, lose weight, reduce nagging and unpleasant symptoms, improve your mood, and have more vitality. This is part of my biological approach to staying the right weight.
Bio hack number 6 is the Ideal Protein program. This is my weight loss program to help get you at your ideal and proper weight. I use the ketogenic diet which has been confirmed by numerous clinical trials as a major biohack for your weight loss and healthy living program.
Bio hack number 7 is teaching my patients ELDOA exercises. These poses will create space in the spine and help you improve your posture and feel better.
In addition to all of the above, I offer other intensive programs to help my patients achieve good health and well being. Feel free to call and talk to us! 310-444-9393

Shockwave therapy and laser therapy are two biohacks for damaged discs and bulges
Contact the office at 310-444-9393.
Both Shockwave and laser help damaged disc and bulges by:
• Stem cell activation: Stem cells are effective in inhibiting disc degeneration and disc herniation. It’s a pretty complex interplay between the stem cells and the immune system cells but the result can be disc tissue regeneration.
• Stem cell activation: Shockwave will promote regeneration of the outer tissue of the disc. As you improve the regeneration, this helps contain and lessen the bulge (scar tissue formation).
• Stem cell activation: Laser increases the number of cells to the area which brings more oxygen to the damaged disc and accelerates healing by reversing the low-oxygen (degenerative or dying) environment in the spine. Everything heals better and faster with increased oxygen.
• Stem cell activation: Laser reduces and prevents herniation by suppressing the non-healing inflammation.
