I like flax seeds in my protein shakes. I think they make for good fiber and I enjoy the nutty flavor. Regarding flax oil, I recommend EPA-DHA over flax oil or seeds. You cannot just take flax oil and not have EPA-DHA found in omega 3 fish oils in a healthy diet. You need EPA-DHA! We need the longer chain n3, not flax ALA. The body doesn’t convert ALA well to EPA or DHA, which are what we need. Flax and other seed sources of ALA may have other toxins and antinutrients. Linoleic Acid (LA) and ALA may not even be essential, as previously believed.
